Man shot on Madison’s west side, community not at risk

MADISON (WKOW) -- Police responded to shots fired on the 5700 block of Russett Road on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Madison Police Department, officers were sent to Russett Road after getting reports of multiple shots fired in the area. 

When police arrived on the scene, they located a 41-year-old man who was shot.

Officers were able to stabilize him at the scene and he was taken to a local hospital. 

Officials say that the man had previous connections with the suspect, and this was not a random act. No arrests have been made.

The Madison Police Department said that the community is not at risk, and all injuries are thought to be non-life threatening.

This is an ongoing investigation.
