MADISON (WKOW) — With many families gathering together for Thanksgiving for the first time in two years, Governor Tony Evers and the First Lady Kathy Evers shared their annual turkey time message.

Evers credited the "grit and resilience" of Wisconsinites over the course of the pandemic, calling attention to the importance of community for getting through the hard times.

"I’m especially thankful today for the strength Wisconsinites have shown over the last few years and know that because of that, we are going to bounce back better than ever," Evers said in the message.

"To all those gathering today and into this weekend, we wish you a joyful and safe holiday," they said.
