Wisconsin wins national title with 2-0 win against Minnesota

The sixth edition of the Border Battle turned out to be the most important one for the Wisconsin women’s hockey team with a 2-0 win against conference rival Minnesota in Hamden, CT to claim the program’s fifth national title.

Wisconsin seniors Sophia Shaver and Annie Pankowski each scored a goal in the win. Shaver’s came in the first period, and Pankowski’s came on a short handed opportunity in the second period.

Wisconsin goaltender Kristen Campbell ended the season with three straight shutouts, and 14 total on the season.

The Badger’s five national titles came in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2019.

Wisconsin ends the season 35-4-2-0.
