MADISON (WKOW)- The WIAA Individual State Tennis Tournament kicks off on Thursday with first round matches. Edgewood's Lily Olson is the top seed in the Division 2 singles bracket.

The Crusaders sophomore brings in an undefeated 18-0 record this season. She placed runner up in the alternate spring state tournament last year as a member of Madison Memorial.

Now with a new school, she has a new goal.

"I am very humbled to get the one seed," Olson said. "It doesn't actually bring that much more pressure. It just inspires me more. Baluck obviously she won two state tournaments too, so that really inspires me. I think I have gotten a lot more consistent. I used to make a lot more mistakes. I think once you become more confident, then it is easier."

Edgewood also qualified for the WIAA Team State Tennis Tournament the following weekend. The Crusaders are the number two seed in Division 2.
