Chandler Halderson Tests Positive for COVID-19 During Trial

MADISON (WKOW) — Chandler Halderson, the man on trial for the death of both of his parents, has tested positive for COVID-19.

27 News confirmed the information through a recording provided by the Law & Crime Network, which is serving as the pool photographer for the trial. Judge John Hyland and attorneys reconvened not half an hour after the jury was sent home for the day Tuesday.

All parties will meet with the jury Wednesday morning around 8:45 a.m. and the rest of the trial may be postponed. No one expressed interest in a mistrial. Judge Hyland hopes to resume the trial next week after Halderson completes quarantine.

Halderson has been in court each day of his trial, with Tuesday being the sixth day.

This is a developing story and will be updated as 27 News learns more.
